Archbishops' Arms
Wrotham was one of the manors owned by the archbishops before the Norman Conquest. In the thirteenth century they used it as a 'staging post' between Lambeth and Canterbury, though its proximity to Otford made it redundant by the mid-fourteenth century when it was demolished by Archbishop Islip. It's materials were then taken to Maidstone and used in the construction of the Manor there.
